Chaplain Lynn Potter

Chaplain Lynn Potter, Founder and CEO of Potter’s Heart Ministry was ordained Senior Chaplain by the International Fellowship of Chaplains on December 1, 2006 and is currently an active member of the Fellowship.  She received an Associate Degree in Christian Counseling from Christian Leadership University on September 7, 2008.

In addition, Chaplain Potter has completed levels  1 and 2 of In Christ’s Image Leadership Training.  She has completed 3 courses with the American Association of Christian Counselors:  Caring for People God’s Way, Assessment and Treatment of Sexual Addiction, and Heal our Land. She has also received 14 contact hours from the University in Maryland and completed the CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management: Group Crisis Intervention) course at Morningstar Fellowship in Fort Mill, SC. Most recently, Chaplain Potter received the right hand of fellowship as an ordained minister at Antioch Church in Fort Mill, SC on July 5, 2015, ..

Chaplain Potter has been an active volunteer at Moss Justice Detention Center in York County, SC since July of 1998, and has volunteered at the Lighthouse Homeless Shelter in Clover, SC, as well as Tender Hearts Shelter for Women in York, SC.  Her desire is to see men and women set free from the bondages that keep them from fulfilling their God ordained destinies.

Author of four interactive workbooks, in the Help! I’m Locked Up Series, and Chloe’s Cry, Chaplain Potter has a vision to distribute her books free of charge to any inmate anywhere who requests one.  Her expanded vision is to provide, free of charge, workshops to inmates inside prison, as well as after they are released, in order to prepare them for life in society.  She hopes to accomplish this by offering life-skills programs such as parenting, job preparation, drug and alcohol prevention, social skills, accountability, responsibility, and financial management. 

Her vision is Biblically based and Christ centered.  Her books have been distributed to numerous prisons and jails across the US, into Canada, India, and Africa, and have been used for individual and group study.  Her desire is to continue writing the Help! series to give inmates an alternative to conventional counseling by inviting them to interact with God and themselves at a deeper level in the privacy of their cells.

In order to expand her vision, Chaplain Potter formed Potter’s Heart Ministry and applied for non-profit status early in 2012.  On April 11, 2012, Potter’s Heart Ministry was officially recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 organization.  All donations to Potter’s Heart Ministry are tax deductible.
